For a long time, the British government's timid, sometimes counter-productive and often contested stance towards European integration was seen as a thorn in the side of Europeans, preventing them from moving forward. From this point of view, we could

therefore consider that the departure of the British (when it is finally finalized) will enable the European Union to move forward and complete the political construction of the continent. However, if the sad spectacle of the Brexit since 2016 has in fact also harmed the European Union since 2016, it could be a wake-up call.
